A New Book from Warby Parker Press!

The title is Daydreamer’s Rx, and it’s a handbook of pre-fabricated daydream fantasies—for all of those moments in life when you feel like daydreaming but need some inspiration.

Remember when we launched Warby Parker Press last winter? Well, good news: We’ve written another book! The title is Daydreamer’s Rx, and it’s a handbook of pre-fabricated daydream fantasies—for all of those moments in life when you feel like daydreaming but need some inspiration. It features surreal, imaginative prompts from our Copy team and beautiful illustrations from Maria Lokke.

To celebrate its release, we threw a daydreaming party at our store in Atlanta last Wednesday. At the event, guests could have their very own daydreams illustrated by talented artists, Mike Lowery and Sarah Neuburger. They were also given to marshmallow treats by Malvi and delicious beer from Creature Comforts. (YUM.)

Winter 2015 is here

A cooler season means growth pauses, animals hibernate, we bunk down in our homes. It calls for a meditative pace, and for Winter 2015, we’re taking it slow.

Our new collection serves up a chillier palette of tranquil blues, greys, and crystals. With new hues Blueberry Buckle, Grapefruit Soda, Glacier Grey, Squall Blue Fade, and Tree Swallow Fade, there’s a little iciness with hits of invigorating warmth.

Five new shapes crafted from premium acetate—Chilton, Chelsea, Baker, Wilder, and Eaton—complement returning knockouts (in new colors) from the Japanese titanium Luminary Collection—for a 20-styles-deep selection of frames. A lotta good stuff in here.

To Read: The Dream of the 90s Is Alive in…

Thinking of a simpler time? Want to only be reachable with just the fax, man? Until there’s a frequent-flyer deal on time machine fares, take this itinerary, your preferred vanishing cream, and a ripped flannel shirt on a journey back to your misspent youth.

Come see us in Shaw!

Guess what, D.C.? We love you. That’s why after opening the doors to our Georgetown location last month, we hopped across town to Shaw.

Guess what, D.C.? We love you. That’s why after opening the doors to our Georgetown location last month, we hopped across town to Shaw.

Our brand-new store, which opened last week, is located in The Shay, a new lifestyle center that’s just steps away from the popular U Street Corridor. (You won’t be able miss the glowing sign above our entrance.)

Inside the space, you’ll find suspended globe lighting, custom checkered terrazzo tiled floors, elegant book displays, custom brass library lamps, leather seating, and a selection of books sourced from some of our favorite independent publishers (for sale to take home). We’re also overjoyed that artist and friend Maira Kalman collaborated with us on a series of drawings that line the walls. (See ’em up top?)

Also: We’ve released a limited-edition pair of sunglasses: Percey in Crystal with mirrored lenses. Come and get ’em.

50 Ways to Lose Your Glasses: Party Edition

ICYMI, we published a book (*which is insane) last week. To celebrate, we did what we always do: assemble a large group of people in a contained space, add booze, and go to town / raise the roof / have a ball / paint the town red.

ICYMI, we published a book (*which is insane) last week. To celebrate, we did what we always do: assemble a large group of people in a contained space and go to town / raise the roof / have a ball / paint the town red.

This particular party also featured a superb DJ who played trip-hop of Japanese origin, and some rather intriguing finger foods, such as the world’s smallest taco (no bigger than an adult man’s thumbnail!).

You can buy the book online or at your local bookseller (request it!), and you can see more of the talented illustrator’s work here.

And now, for some party pics.
