Introducing Windsor Collection

Meet our newest range of extra-special frames, influenced by the timeless Windsor rim—and the careful construction and details that went into making it a classic.

Meet our newest range of extra-special frames, influenced by the timeless Windsor rim—and the careful construction and details that went into making it a classic.

First off are three new styles that offer fresh takes on the Windsor’s distinct circular shape, ranging from the perfectly round and oversized Phipps sunglasses to the more traditional, slightly undersized frames, Gellhorn and Henry (both available in sun and optical). Each pair is crafted from lightweight Japanese titanium and wrapped in premium cellulose acetate coils along the rim. The custom coils are hand-cut from a single sheet of acetate at a small Italian factory, where the 100-year-old technique has been perfected.

And for the first time ever, we’re launching sunwear clip-ons with the Durand and Chamberlain frames, now available in brand-new hues. Exclusively for this collection, both styles come equipped with premium leather-wrapped stainless steel clips-ons that are outfitted with polarized lenses (plus a leather carrying case)—because layering in the winter should always start with your glasses.

Ametora

W. David Marx’s Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style tells the hitherto-unknown story of how American fashion made its way to Japan and became enmeshed, archived, and reinvented on new soil.

W. David Marx’s Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style tells the hitherto-unknown story of how American fashion made its way to Japan and became enmeshed, archived, and reinvented on new soil.

Anyone who has set foot inside a Uniqlo or pored over Take Ivy needs this piece of fashion criticism/cultural history/sartorial codebreaking in his (or her!) life. Go snatch that tome.

We toasted Marx’s publication with a party at our Soho store. See photos below, and don’t miss this lovely account of the evening by Thierry Augustin of Genteel Flair.

What Gift Should You Give?

Gifting is hard. The ideal gift requires foresight, thought, affection, and a significant dollop of mind-reading. This modern era of industrial inventiveness and technological innovation means we have more choices than ever before…and less direction!

But do not fret. We’ve created a handy guide for all the important people in your life: spouse, crush, Congressman, etc. Let this chart be your holiday lodestar. (We got it for download too if you want it in hand.)

You’ll never give a bad gift again!

82 Ways to Lose Your Glasses

In celebration of our 50 Ways to Lose Your Glasses launch, we solicited our employees’ own stories of eyewear-gone-astray. There were a bunch—82, in fact—and we rewarded the most outstanding/devastating of them with this here t-shirt.

A few winners (or losers of sorts, too, if you think about it):

Donated to an overwhelmed bartender.

While on a late night excursion home from a Warby Parker event, I lost the glasses right off my face on the B train!

Flushed down toilet while mourning death of goldfish.

I forgot they were on my face, and looked for them for approximately 15 minutes.

This one time at the Hoover Dam I was afraid my glasses would fall off my face, so I hung them on my shirt collar and looked over the edge… and then they fell off my shirt and into the Hoover Dam.

While backpacking with a friend through Rocky Mountain National Park, I tripped over a fallen pine tree and lost my sunglasses in a pile of moss.

My dad “lost” my glasses when I was 8, because he didn’t think I looked intimidating enough on the soccer field with them on.

I left them in an old jacket, which was lost in an old box, which was lost in an old closet.

(Here’s where you can get your very own copy of 50 Ways to Lose Your Glasses!)
