This past weekend, we opened a new store in Miami—more specifically, the Wynwood Art District. Though this is our first stand-alone location in Miami, we’ve been selling glasses, slinging vintage reads, and offering art-themed bikes rides at The Readery (inside the Standard Spa, Miami Beach) since 2012.

Settling down in the Wynwood Art District made perfect sense from the start: great art, tasty restaurants, and a stable of other like-minded folks. (There are over fifty galleries in the neighborhood!) Lucky for us, we’re located in the heart of it all—right around the corner from The Wynwood Walls on Northwest 25th Street.

The store itself reflects much of the area’s industrial vibe, but with an added dose of poolside pizzazz thrown in (think swimming pool-patterned floors, tropical plants, and an overhead photo booth that recreates your classic lounging-by-the-water moment.)

Stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

Introducing the Basso Collection

Inspired by low-relief sculptures (or basso-relievo if you speak Italiano), our Basso Collection features an elevated “step” design.

Inspired by low-relief sculptures (or basso-relievo if you speak Italiano), our Basso Collection features an elevated “step” design. This overlaid look is created by laminating two layers of acetate together, then very precisely paring away the top layer to reveal a layer of contrast acetate below. The result is a pair of frames with added depth and a slightly weightier, more substantial feel.

We applied this new treatment to three of our favorite frames: Duckworth, Percey, and Winston. Every style boasts one of four custom color combinations from a palette of oceanic hues; each paired together and artfully constructed to accentuate the shape of the individual frame.

Take a peek below to see those nice, new details.

Five Years, Five-Word Memoirs

The response was overwhelming. We received almost 300 memoir titles in 24 hours! It turns out there are a few hundred really good writers in our office.
