Being in a new city means a new team is running the show on the Class Trip bus! This exuberant group has already hit the ground running, kicking things off last night with our launch party at Hilliard’s Brewery. Liz, Ash and Darius (along with Jamie, who was managing the team in Portland too) will be here throughout our stay in Seattle. Get to know them a bit before you swing by the bus!

Trying to pinpoint Ash’s accent? She’s from South Africa, although she’s occasionally asked if she’s from Boston. Maybe it’s something about that missing “r.”

Normally working at The Readery in the Standard Hotel in Downtown LA, Ash is planning to seek out some of the locations where the Twin Peaks were filmed. If anyone from the team drives along with her, she’ll be putting “Road to Nowhere” by Talking Heads on the stereo.

While Ash can brag that she packed light for the trip (one bag plus one carry-on for the plane), Darius is thinking differently. “I came with two and am leaving with six,” he told us. Have any shopping suggestions? Send them his way.

As for sights, he says that although a bit cliche, he’s looking forward to checking out the Space Needle. “I’m a huge fan of the ‘Frasier’ logo,” he told us. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that our blackboard on the bus already has the skyline sketched out—a perfect replica of the logo created by Darius himself.

Both Liz and Jamie are planning to do a lot of coffee drinking while here. “As the resident coffee addict of the trip, you will find me wandering from cafe to cafe on my day off,” Liz told us.

“I can’t wait to visit our country’s flagship Starbucks and get some coffee in my system—then I’ll really be sleepless in Seattle!” Jamie said of her plans. She’s already checked on place off of must-see list: Pike Place Market. And she certainly wasn’t anticipating holding a fish while there.

Swing by the bus through July 7th (Wednesday-Sunday) at 2nd Ave. and Pine to meet the in person!
