Hello there! It’s Jesse and Colleen again. In our last post, we talked about our trip to Guatemala in terms of Warby Parker’s social mission, but there was another motivating factor behind sending us all down there: fun! The twelve of us on the trip have been working together for three years now, so it was a treat to get out of the country (let alone the office) and cut loose a little as a team. We rode horses, rented scooters, went ziplining, roasted malvaviscos (marshmallows), played car games, and danced in a dirt parking lot to Soulja Boy.

When you travel in a group, you don’t just learn about the place you’re visiting—you also end up learning about your coworkers. For example: Brian sneezes when he chews gum. Also, Tim and Lee sneeze when they eat chocolate (is this a thing?), and the ever-bubbly Kaki does have a quiet side. Cory’s two favorite foods are tiramisu and pulled pork, but not combined. Lizann is completely fearless.

It’s not as though we don’t have fun in the office, but nothing compares to swimming in a volcanic lake. We’re excited for everyone else to make the trip once they hit their three-year Warby Parker anniversary.
