For our latest summertime (we know, early, but hey, we’re excited!) rollout, we’re introducing three unbeatably flattering shapes in five fizzy, poppy, sun-soaked hues.

A kaleidoscope of ~crystals~ gives these 1960s-inspired silhouettes—the most classic of classic shapes—a translucent-but-not, totally effervescent glow.

See for yourself!

To Read: How Do I Love Thee?

Love takes so many aspects, some of which we wouldn’t recommend trying in public. We all love differently, so pick out a book to show you the art of loving—yours, or another practitioner’s style.

The gazers behind #girlgaze

We commissioned a few up-and-coming photographers in the #girlgaze community to share their beautiful creative interpretations of the Amanda de Cadenet collaboration frames. The photos (some of which we’ve been sharing over on Instagram) are ~insanely~ gorgeous and we couldn’t resist sharing even more. So, here.

We’re back, Philly!

Philadelphia is home for us—it’s where the idea for Warby Parker was born, where we sold our first pair, and where we had our first showroom (in one of our co-founders’ dining rooms—it was a squeeze!). All that to say: We were over the moon when we opened our first permanent store in the city last weekend. (The thrill has not faded.)

The floor-to-ceiling windows on the façade of the store feature an applied mosaic pattern in all our favorite shades of our very favorite color, blue. And above the marble Reference Desk inside, you’ll find a vibrant original mural by Philly-based artist Andy Rementer (he’s a University of the Arts grad!).

WP Philadelphia-9564B

To celebrate this homecoming of sorts, we’re going all out with in-store exclusives. In tribute to now-closed Roosevelt Pub (where the idea for Warby Parker came together), we’re releasing the Roosevelt Collection—featuring, appropriately, Roosevelt, one of the first frames we ever designed, in three dashing new colors. It’s in Sandalwood Matte, Mallard Green, and Earl Grey, and is available in limited quantities only at Walnut St. (i.e., they’re not online so come on in!).

We’re also packing a bunch of non-eyewear treats—like lens cloths featuring Andy Rementer’s electric in-store artwork (included with any eyewear purchase); playful postcards with original artwork by the Philly-based Molly Egan; and custom totes (free with purchase for any student who shows a current student ID!)—only available for a limited time.

Our doors are open! We hope you’ll stop by soon.

Introducing the Pupils Project

As we wrap up the year and look toward 2017, we’re pumped to continue the very critical work of getting more glasses to visually impaired kids.

As we wrap up the year and look toward 2017, we’re pumped to continue the very critical work of getting more glasses to visually impaired kids.

We’ve been at work with DonorsChoose.org to get New York school kids into their very own pairs of glasses. (You can still donate, p.s.) But we’re also in cahoots (the non-devious kind) with a few other partners to reach even more kids.  We’re calling this the Pupils Project. Right now, it’s aimed at stateside students, but we’ve got big plans to increase the scope.

Last year, we began a four-year partnership called Community Schools with the City of New York, Department of Education, and the Office of School Health. 65,000 kids in pre-k through 12th grade at 130 schools will get free vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses (that last part is where we come in).

And through a three-year partnership called Vision for Baltimore, we’re providing glasses to 8,240 pre-k through 8th grade students in 150 public schools. These kids also receive free vision screenings and eye exams thanks to the City of Baltimore, Baltimore City Health Department, and Vision to Learn. John Hopkins University is also involved; they’re conducting a longitudinal study to understand the correlation between the intervention of vision treatment and reading scores. This research will offer a better understanding of the benefits of ensuring access to glasses for children in urban settings. Johns Hopkins will publish their findings with the hopes of influencing public policy at a federal level, and to ensure that glasses are within reach of any child who needs them.

Wanna help a little? (Or a lot?) There’s 12 days left this year. That’s plenty of time to help some kids have a fantastic holiday season. Interested? Here you go.

Our Newest Collection

These sunglasses are—how else to say it?—jewelry for the face.

These sunglasses are—how else to say it?—jewelry for the face. This is your glimmering holiday adornment, a bevy of beauties that mix 1970s decadence with fairy-tale whimsy. We started with titanium editions of stylized silhouettes—an oversized round frame; a slinky cat-eye—and adorned them with hand-painted enamel details in Snow, Rose, and Mint. Flash mirrored lenses and contrasting temple tips are the flourishes that take these frames from “head-turning” to “imminently collectible.” (And titanium nose pads make the light-as-a-feather shapes as comfortable as can be.) For added opulence, we’re introducing a new Rose Gold colorway that takes the warmest metal and makes it blush.

We’ve also included an all-black pair with tonal hand-painted enamel and temple tips for those who prefer their adornment on the minimalist side. Each pair comes inside a black leather case with grey lining for maximum covetability (and giftability).
