In the mood for something sweet? Even if it’s out of your way, you should really make a stop at Emporium Pies in Oak Cliff. This cozy little shop has quickly convinced us that slices of pie aren’t just reserved for the holidays.

The warm, charming decor encourages you to claim a table and stay for a while—you may as well order that slice with a scoop of ice cream, and wash it down with a cup of coffee! You won’t feel out of place if you pop in by yourself, but we recommend bringing a friend along with you so you’ll have an excuse to sample a few different flavors.

Our top choices so far? The Cloud Nine, a creamy, butterscotch concoction and the Buttermilk Blitzen, which tastes just like a chai latte. For a couple of fruity options, you should also try the Merry Berry, which is dotted with walnuts, and the classic Lord of the Pies apple.

If you’re in a rush, you can easily grab a few slices to go!
