An art ride through Miami
Forget the walking tour and, uh, please ditch that Segway. Staying at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach? You’re in luck. Our custom beach cruisers are all lined up in the lobby and ready for guests to take out for beachside excursions.
We rounded up Miami-based bloggers Ginger Harris, Daniela Ramirez, Maria Tettamanti, and Annie Vazquez and went for an art-themed bike ride through Miami Beach. First stop? The Readery, our very own 1940s-style kiosk in The Standard’s lobby, for a pair of sunglasses, a total necessity in the Florida sun. Added advantage: stylish helmet-compatibility.
Pocket map in tow, we set off on two wheels to discover sculptures, paintings, murals, ceramics, mirrored glass and fountains by artists from Roy Lichtenstein to Franz Franc.
Guests can sign up at the front desk and rent the Warby Parker bicycles for their own self-guided art tour or for a ride to the beach. Sunglasses not included, but highly recommended.
